Have a say on Norwood’s Master Plan

vwnth-consultation-octoberLast chance to have a say on the Master Plan for West Norwood before its turned into a report this October. The report will outline plans for the future of shopping, housing and business in West Norwood town centre. Hundreds of people have already input to the Master plan – many online via https://westnorwoodandtulsehill.commonplace.is/

On Thursday October 6th at St Lukes Church SE27 0HS you can see the latest plans and speak to the team who have been working on the Master Plan for months.
There will be other opportunities – at West Norwood Feast on 22nd October and an exhibition in St Lukes Church from 3rd to 17th October.

Autumn Fair time

4ALL’s popular annual Community Autumn Fair is this Saturday 17th September 2pm to 5pm at All Saints Church Lovelace Road SE21 8JY.
Crafts, artists, refreshments, music, local groups. All welcome.

4ALL’s annual Community Autumn Fair is now an important part of the West Dulwich and wider Norwood calendar and a great opportunity for specialist businesses – crafts, foods, etc – to talk about and sell their products to people from every part of the community.

The proceeds support 4ALL’s community activities :  two after-school clubs for young people living on local estates and a  community choir and  exercise class for older people.

Artist Open House weekends in May

A great opportunity to talk to the artists, browse and maybe buy. West Norwood’s 4th Jumble trail is on Sunday 24th April  11am to 3pm. It’s like a car boot sale ( or garage sale) but lots of separate stalls  in the streets across West Norwood. A great chance for real bargains…

A stall costs £3.50 to put you on the map & goes to help cover costs of advertising.

Library – Cinema gets the go-ahead!

Cllr Edbrooke signs the Library/Cinema decision

The West Norwood joint Library Cinema project  has been finalised at last and signed off by Cllr Jane Edbrooke, councillor responsible for Culture & Libraries in Lambeth.  This partnership between the council and Picturehouse will invest over £6m into the regeneration of  West Norwood  town centre.

Building work on the Nettlefold Hall site in Norwood High Street SE27 will start soon in order for the joint library -cinema to open  in September 2017.

Local activities for older people

Line Dancing at 10.30am on first Wednesday morning of the month at The British Home in Crown Lane is just one of the variety of activities targeted at older people in the West Norwood area.

Every week there are: sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays at West Norwood Health & Leisure Centre ( 020 8761 1159),  NPG holds classes on Tuesdays at The Old Library ,  an over -50s club on Thursdays from 12 noon at Emmanuel Church , Clive Road and a  gentle exercise class on Fridays at 9.30 am at All Saints Church , Lovelace Rd.

And every month there are more things to join in:  2nd Wednesdays at 2.30 pm is a tea dance ( dementia friendly)  at Portico;  U3A meets on 3rd Wednesday at The Park Tavern, Elder Rd ; a  film matinee at Portico on 3rd Wednesdays 2.30pm.
