UPDATE August 2021: planning permission approved 24th November 2020 including 11 flats at affordable rent and 5 flats for shared ownership.
Developers plan to demolish the grotty corner on Thurlow Park Road opposite the Tulse Hill Hotel and build 43 new homes in a block up to 7 storeys high. The proposal for the new block is for eight 3-bedroom homes, twenty seven 2-bedroom homes and eight 2- bedroom homes. 17 of the flats are to be affordable.
The site is close to Tulse Hill rail station and many bus routes so there is no off-road parking except for 2 disabled bays and plenty of cycle parking.
Norwood Road is closed for northbound traffic following another burst water main early today by the Co op near Tulse Hill station. Thames Water are awaiting the arrival of a large pump this evening (10th July) before they can start work on the burst pipe.
They hope the emergency repairs will be completed and the northbound lane should be reopened on Sunday 14th July.
In the meantime all northbound traffic is diverted along Avenue Park Road.
Buses are too tall for the Thurlow Park Road rail bridge and therefore diverted along Thurlow Park Road and Croxted Road back to Norwood Road.
