The planning application for West Norwood’s library – cinema in the refurbished Nettlefold Hall at 1 Norwood High Street SE27 9JU has just been submitted. The plans are for a refurbished library, 4-screen cinema, community space and a café/bar.
Check out the details, and comment online, by using ref 15/04179 via Lambeth’s Planning Portal. The Design Statement has a brief history of the site as well as describing the new facilities.
The joint library- cinema project is a partnership between Lambeth council and Picturehouse Cinemas . Works to the refurbished building are due to finish sometime in 2017.
Antic’s long awaited plans for a bar & Pizza Union restaurant, next to the petrol station, are on hold pending a new planning application. The latest plans are for a 3 storey block of 6 flats and 5 small shops in an arcade at the back of the bar & restaurant site at 294-298 Norwood Road SE27 9AF

Antic’s long awaited bar will give West Norwood’s evening economy a real boost. Last November Lambeth council gave planning permission for a family friendly bar and restaurant at 294-296 Norwood Road -in the site of This That and The Other store. Taking account of the flats above and nearby, the maximum opening hours were set as 9am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 9am to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
