Norwood Road works finished!

Early this week Thames Water finished their mains water project on Norwood Road and have now left the area free of diverted buses, extra traffic lights , cones and one lane roads. We have almost forgotten what it’s like to be free of road works as Thames Water started digging up Norwood Road in May 2019 and before that roadworks on Leigham Vale from 2016.

Thames Water has offered the local community £2,000 compensation for the disruption to our town centre. One suggestion is to produce and  distribute a business /service  directory to all the households surrounding West Norwood to encourage people to return to their local shopping centre and local traders.

Replacement of our trunk water mains is important infrastructure work  BUT it will not reduce the numerous leaks in our local roads and pavements. Please continue to report these to Thames Water: https://www.thameswater.co.uk/contact-us/report-a-problem/report-a-problem-online or phone 0800 714 614 or facebook/twitter @thameswater

The original Thames Water Authority was privatised in 1989 and is now owned by Kemble Water Holdings. The largest shareholders are:

Canadian pensions group OMERS , BT Pension Scheme , the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, the China Investment Corporation and the Kuwait Investment Authority.
