Developers are holding an exhbition on Thursday 21st August of their latest plans for the Tennis Club site. Drop in between 7pm and 9pm to the Tennis Club at 128 Knights Hill SE27 0SR – on the corner with Cheviot Road.
It is expected these plans will be submitted to Lambeth as a planning application very soon when there will be opportunities to comment formally. For details email: sigmaplan@aol.com
An earlier planning application for 52 homes in a building up to 6 storeys high was rejected by the Planning Committee and by the independent Planning Inspector in 2013.

God, these greedy b*stards just don’t give up.
“The tennis club has been an irreplaceable resource for the community.” I’m afraid it hasn’t been for a long time, but were it open to new members, it certainly would be. Any new development should include keeping the courts and opening them up to new membership.
I would definitely use the tennis club if it were to be available for local residents, schools, etc. I know of many local families that would also love to use this facility. I do not support the planning application for housing on this precious open air site.
Haven’t seen the plans as I was away (as were many neighbours – clever of them to host the open evening when so many of us are out of town!) but I understand most of the recreational facilities proposed will be for residents only and they have drastically reduced the outside recreational areas. Really hope this doesn’t go through as we need to fight to maintain and increase outside recreational space in the neighbourhood.
The tennis club land is wasted at present. Surely better to have fresh modern developments to help lift the rather tired and run down image much of that end of town has ?
