Shop local for Christmas!

There will be over 45 stalls at the West Norwood Christmas markets this Saturday 12th Dec 11am to 3pm. Visit the stalls centred around Norwood High St beside St Luke’s church SE27 0DT.  There’s something for everyone!

Feast is back on Sunday

West Norwood Feast markets are back for real on 2nd August this Sunday 10am to 4pm. Come along and support our local independent businesses.

Things have changed around a little since last year and  Feast is now on three sites: Food Fair at St Luke’s Church ,  Artisans’ Market at Chatworth Way  and Village Green in Devane Way SE27 0DF . Due to social distancing there is no picnicing in St Luke’s Gardens.

Feast is back this Sunday 7/4

Stalls near York Hill

West Norwood Feast is back on Sunday 7th April after its winter break ! The weather will be warmer at  a welcome 16 degrees C too!

Markets & activities at Artisans’ Market (Chatsworth Way SE24 9HR), Food Fair (in the garden of St Luke’s church SE27 0DT), Retro Village (Rosebery’s  74-76 Knight’s Hill SE27 0JD), Family Hub (outside the West Norwood Health & Leisure Centre, Devane Way SE27 0DF) and Fresh & Green (along Norwood Road from the corner of York Hill SE27 9AF)

Free music & kids activities at Portico from 10am, Food Fair from 12noon, Artisans Market from 10am, Family Hub from 11am. Picturehouse Cinema  is showing unique short local films at 11.30am . The Book & Record Bar has DJ  12noon to 2pm.

Christmas in West Norwood

This week brings the countdown to the festive season starting off with Small Business Saturday on 2nd December. Look out for balloons adorning the shopping street , along with our West Norwood Christmas tree funded by our business community and decorated courtesy of the lovely people at Floral Hall.

Come to the Feast markets on Sunday 3rd Dec 10am to 4pm for music, food and local shopping http://westnorwoodfeast.com/festive-feast-sunday-3-dec/ Pop along to  L’Arche for mince pies, mulled wine , candles & stocking fillers at their Christmas Fayre at 21 Idminston Rd SE27 9HE on Sunday too. and drop into the library on Knights Hill for childrens activities and poetry!

And next week is the Feast’s annual Christmas Lights event on Sunday 10 December 3pm 7pm at St Luke’s Church SE27 0HS.

Feast is back on Sunday

The first Sunday of every month April to December is a West Norwood Feast day – that’s this weekend 2nd April!

Markets & activities are at Artisans’ Market (Chatsworth Way SE24 9HR), Food Fair (in the garden of St Luke’s church SE27 0DT), Retro Village (Rosebery’s  74-76 Knight’s Hill SE27 0JD), Family Hub (outside the West Norwood Health & Leisure Centre, Devane Way SE27 0DF) and Fresh & Green (along Norwood Road from the corner of York Hill SE27 9AF)

New this year is WiNGiT a performance space for under -20s by the Leisure Centre 1pm to 3pm.

And if you haven’t taken a  cemetery guided tour yet –  its  2.30pm on Sunday at the main gate .[ https://www.fownc.org/events/ ]

Help out at West Norwood Feast

I Love FEAST’ volunteer recruitment event happening on Sunday 2 nd  March at the Portico Gallery, 23a Knight’s Hill, SE27 0HS  from 11 am to 3pm.IMG-20140228-00329

West Norwood FEAST will be hosting a day of fun-filled activity at The Portico Gallery to mark the relaunch of their regular Sunday monthly market on April 6th.  With free kids’ activities and a pop up cafe, the ‘I Love FEAST’ event will be a chance for people to find out more about FEAST, meet the team behind it, and maybe even get involved themselves.

There will be information about:

Volunteer opportunities – West Norwood FEAST is always keen to hear from anyone who would like to help out
The four market ‘hubs’ – food, artisans, retro, and gardening & fresh produce, including how to apply for a stall.

Last Norwood Feast this year – today!

IMG_6534Sunday 1st December is the last West Norwood Feast of the year. So come along between 10am and 4pm and visit the stalls at York Hill, Chestnut Road, St Lukes Gardens and Roseberys on Knights Hill. Portico Gallery on Knights Hill has a Christmas Bazaar with dozens of stalls – something for everyone.

Look out for events in West Norwood for Small Business Saturday on 7th December.

The next West Norwood Feast will be Sunday April 6th  2014.

West Norwood Weekend Festivities

The 31st March and 1st April weekend welcomes Spring to West Norwood.

Saturday is West Norwood’s first Slow Food Festival 10am to 6pm around  St Luke’s church SE27 0HS

Cakes and bakeryFlour milling, apple pressing, urban foraging, pizza making,  cider drinking, jazz,  meet Mrs Beeton, catch Mr Freaky Peens, enjoy the Honey Theatre Live, check out Brixton City Farm, hear about  rare pig breeds,  watch Brindisa’s master jamon carver at work,  taste perfect pizza made in a  mobile wood fired oven, have a cup of Volcano coffee, treat yourself to a tongue sandwich, have  a Fortnum & Mason style tea, watch the magical Ms McK interview a surprise celebrity guest ,try authentic pierogi, listen to Levi Roots’ friend on the wonders of caribbean cuisine, bake a cake for the family bake off, make a dish for the slow food cook off , win dinner for two at Bubba’s .. …………. there’s something for everyone but you may need to book online for some events:

Saturday 2pm to 5pm is the Spring Flower Show in St Luke’s church hall. Flowers on display including tulips, daffodils, & polyanthus, photographs, floral art and a ginger biscuit competition. All welcome.

Slow food festivalSunday 1st April is  first  Feast day of 2012 open 10am to 4pm. The West Norwood Feast is a people-powered market celebrating the diversity, talent and entrepreneurial skills in our neighbourhood. There’s plenty to see and do including the Gardeners’ Corner by York Hill where you can pick up seeds, plants and tools, the Artisans’ Market on Chatsworth Road with locally-made arts and crafts, a Food Fair at St Luke’s with stalls serving freshly-cooked street food and even a Retro Village by Roseberys on Knights Hill with a market for reused, recycled and remade furniture and clothes.   And there’s music, performance, a beer and cider tent, a community garden on Norwood Road by the Fire Station and  The Edible Bus Stop.
