Grant to green and clean our communities

Capital Clean-up, a partnership with the London Mayor and McDonalds, is calling on charities, community groups and local businesses to apply for grants between £500 and £1,500 to bring volunteers together to litter-pick,  remove graffiti, create a community garden – or anything that  creates cleaner, greener, and safer neighbourhoods.  Last year Jubilee school in Tulse Hill won a grant to create a new garden at the front of the school.

I think it is outrageous that McDonalds are getting volunteers to pick up their litter. McDonalds should be paying street cleaners as most of rubbish left on the streets is McDonald’s and other fast food chain waste.
