Residents oppose developers plans to build 47 homes in a block 4-6  storeys high on the empty site by Tulse Hill station in Avenue Park Road.

There is a public meeting on Monday 9th September at Chatsworth Baptist Church, Chatworth Way SE27 9HN  at 7pm to discuss this development and other potential developments in West Norwood  – organised by Norwood Forum and Norwood Action Group (NAG).

Cllr Peter Robbins, reponsible for housing and  regeneration at Lambeth council, will also be speaking at the meeting and hearing the views of residents as part of the consultation on Lambeth’s latest Local Plan for the West Norwood area.

Unfortunately the Coalition government has recently reduced the powers of councils to influence new developments. By deregulating town planning rules the government is helping developers build without taking the views of local people into account.
