Tennis Club Planning Latest

tennisFor the third time developers appealed to the independent Planning Inspector after Lambeth council refused their bid to build homes on the West Norwod Tennis Club.

A hearing took place in March at which residents & Cllr Jane Pickard supported the council’s refusal.

The planning Inspector agrees with the council and has dismissed the appeal:

“the benefits of the proposed development for 52 homes would not be outweighed by the harm from loss of outdoor space and the scale of the building.”

I’m glad to hear this news but will the tennis club start being a proper tennis club again by accepting new members? making it’s courts usable?

  2. This is great news! I live locally within walking distance of WNLTC. I would love to use this local club regularly with my children but it never seems to be open for use.

I agree with the others, it’s good news but only if the tennis club opens its doors to new members. Otherwise it continues to be a facility that’s useless to the local community.
