The Empire Windrush ship that brought some of the first Caribbean migrants had 1,027 passengers. Many of their relatives and descendants suffered under the Home Office’s ‘hostile environment’.

Since the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25th, and the global response to this shocking incident, there is a renewed determination to tackle the inequality and discrimination faced by Black & Asian Minority Ethnic communities. Windrush Day is one part of this effort.
