Lambeth is competing for £1m to become The Mayor of London’s borough of culture in 2019 or 2020. The #OurLambeth bid will look to the future, using culture to inspire and tackle the major social challenges faced by Lambeth and London today.

London Borough of Culture is a new initiative launched by the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan. Inspired by the UK City and European Capital of Culture awards, the London Borough of Culture aims to capture the energy and imagination of an entire city.

All 32 London Boroughs have the opportunity to compete for the title. The winning borough will be awarded £1 million by the Greater London Authority, with additional funding from programme partners including Heritage Lottery Fund and Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
