Sunday tours of the cemetery

Last Month the National Lottery granted Lambeth council  £241k to draw up detailed plans to improve our historic cemetery. The improvement plans include new entrance gates, footpaths, drainage & improvements to the Greek Orthodox Necropolis. A Visitor Centre is a real possibility too. Once these plans pass the next stage the Heritage Lottery Fund will grant us £4.8m to implement the plans.

West Norwood’s cemetery is one of London’s historic Magnificent Seven cemeteries founded in 1836 and even has its own catacombs.

Friends of West Norwood Cemetery ( http://www.fownc.org/) organise free tours on the first Sunday of the month – meet inside main gates at 2.30pm. Donations appreciated!
