Nick Willoughby of West Norwood and two friends are set to take over The Norwood Hotel and re-open it as The Great North Wood pub and kitchen – a relaxed, family-friendly pub, serving delicious food and great beer. It will be light and airy during the day; a great place to enjoy the papers, a coffee or some lunch and in the evening it will be a cosy haven to have a well deserved drink and enjoy a delicious home cooked meal. When the sun decides to show itself the garden will open and the BBQ will fire up!
The refurbishment will begin mid- February and should re-open for the last weekend of March. Look out for the taster sessions!

I am so excited about this! The area is crying out for a nice, family pub. It’s just another sign that West Norwood, so long forgotten and overlooked is finally getting the love it deserves 🙂
Thank god.
will there still be the free Sunday lunches though? They used to do a great chilli and an awesome chicken pie! Now I’ll have to fork out a tenner!
I hope that doesn’t mean screaming kids everywhere.
I hope it will be for the whole community and not just hurrahs! Still a pub in Norwood that finally has a wide ale selection is no bad thing.
Went to the The Great North Wood this afternoon. Love love love it ! At last a proper pub in West Norwood . A lovely jug of Pimms ( with all the trimmings )
delicious food, sitting in the garden what more could I ask for. Love the decor too…… just my cup of tea. My friends & I will be back !!!! :))))) Thank you !
