West Norwood’s Health and Leisure Centre with swimming pool, gym and dance studio gets the final go ahead. Construction work on the centre will start in the next few weeks and will be complete within two years.
The joint health and leisure centre will be built on land near the derelict Norwood Hall at the end of Devane Way facing West Norwood train station. This major investment by Labour run Lambeth Council is a huge boost to West Norwood and will encourage further private investment in the borough as well as provide much needed new facilities.
Anyone know what size the pool will be?
Pool is 25m x 6 lanes
Great News and a great boost to the local area – no more excuses I have to get fit!
This is great news – the area is sorely lacking in such facilities.
Does anyone know if the pool will have access for all – i.e not just a ladder entry?
There will be a staffed exhibition, with details of the project, at the West Norwood Feast on Sunday 6th May.
