Changes to ward boundaries for next year

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) has published its draft of changes to ward boundaries to come into effect in 2022. The aim of the changes for each elected councillor to represent about the same number of resident electors. The LGBCE will be presenting its findings at an online meeting on Thursday 11th March 6pm to 7pm. To take part book your place here. For the West Norwood area the LGBCE has proposed:

• a new ward named St Martins (2 cllrs) around Tulse Hill station
• renamed Thurlow Park as Rosendale (2 cllrs)
• moved some of Gipsy Hill ward (2cllrs)  into Knights Hill ward (3 cllrs) .

Residents, businesses, the council and political parties input a large number of suggestions to the LGBCE review of Lambeth. The council and others requested changes to wards named after people involved in slavery eg Lord Thurlow.
