Update – new pub in Knights Hill

Jam Circus Pub

Last week planning permission was granted by Lambeth councillors to turn the derelict( near  Wolfington Road junction)  shop at 13-19 Knights Hill into a new pub.

Max Alderman of Antic Ltd (www.antic-ltd.com ) says it will be called Knowle’s of Norwood after the name of the original shop on the site. Knowle’s of Norwood will be a day and evening, family friendly, bar and restaurant similar to Jam Circus in Brockley – another area in south London  popular with families.
The pub is expected to open in late February/March 2010 . The next step is to apply to Lambeth council for a licence which will be advertised for 28 days and then be decided at a meeting of the Licensing Committee. Watch this web site for details.

Erm… Still waiting for this pub… thought they said it would be opening in March? I have a sneaking suspicion it won’t be happening. Please tell me I’m wrong! West Norwood high street is bereft of anything decent to go to in the evening. Come on West Norwood!
